Lonicera hildebrandiana Collet & Hemsley

Gigant honeysuckle

This is the giant Burmese honeysuckle and is the largest in flower and leaf of all the honeysuckle’s. The fragrant cream flowers turn to a rich yellow orange and can be 8 to 12 cm long.

Native of Burma and Vietnam.

This is undoubtedly the most spectacular honeysuckle species being the largest in leaf, flower and habit. Unfortunately only suitable for the mildest localities or greenhouse. Found in gardens in Australia, Hawaii and Madeira island.
Difficult to propagate from cuttings. Propagate from seeds, layering, or grafting on L. japonica.
